Go do it: Alive After Five goes indie with the dodos
Fri, 27 Jun 2008 00:00:00 MDT One good thing about the Dodos: They can't pull a "Bumpus" and show up to Alive After Five with half as many band members as we expected. Well, they probably could. But that would leave one person. An eclectic duo for the indie-rock crowd, the Dodos play music that incorporates pop, folk and hints of psychedelia. The relationship between acoustic guitar and percussion plays a major role in this act's sound. How it will play in front of the masses at The Grove is anyone's guess. In what may or may not be good news for the band, Pitchfork wrote that the Dodos' new CD, "Visiter," is "one of the most welcoming (and welcome) records of 2008 so far." |
